*Brazil* Baby doll therapy

Baby doll therapy, although controversial, is a psychosocial approach that can reduce general neuropsychiatric symptoms, stimulate communication, and improve the quality of life of both those who live with dementia and their carers.

As we are experiencing a long period of pandemic, which has brought insecurity, anxiety and suffering especially to the elderly, all efforts are necessary to enhance joy, comfort and a positive experience in care.

The project is a partnership with EMS pharmaceutical, which is donating and delivering 100 baby dolls to people living with initial to mild dementia, whose family members participated in virtual sessions during which orientations were given as how to introduce and use the dolls, as well as being respectful of the dignity of their loved ones. This information is being reinforced by a printed brochure delivered with each doll.
