VIOBA social enterprise (Vietnam Organization for Better Ageing) was established in March 2025 with the support of HelpAge International. Since its founding, VIOBA has been an active participant in the ADI Membership Development Programme.
VIOBA inherits the expertise, network, and core values of HelpAge International in Vietnam, while taking forward its legacy to further promote healthy and active ageing in the country. VIOBA works closely with the Vietnam Association of the Elderly (VAE), National Geriatric Hospital, Ministry of Health Vietnam, aiming to support 530,000 people living with dementia and 17 million older people in Vietnam.
Services provided by VIOBA include:
- Research and consultation on developing solutions to adapt to ageing
- Education, training and awareness raising initiatives
- Support in development and scaling up of age-friendly community models (Intergenerational Self-Help Club/ISHC)
- Communication and policy advocacy to all stakeholders
- Support social initiatives and start up
- Main focal point of all work related to ageing and dementia in Vietnam
