Iran Dementia & Alzheimer’s Association (IDAA) was founded in 2001 by Masomeh Salehi, Maryam Mir Hashemi, Effat Abghari and Mehdi Eslami and has been a member of ADI since 2006.
IDAA is based in Tehran, Iran and has formed a federation of 13 Alzheimer’s associations in the country, which are separate entities.
They have helped initiate a dementia action plan in Iran by delivering a draft to the Ministry of Health and following this up over the past 4 years. They have also trained over 100 volunteers from a Pension Organisation.
