Demensia Brunei (dB) was founded by Dr Teo Shyh Poh, Irnawati Hj Mahir, Nurul Bazilah bte Hj Ali, Dk Hjh Nur Satri, Dk Hjh Haryati Binti Pg Hj Hashim, Maizatul bte Hj Omar Ali, Dr Onn Lih Vei, Ahmad Zahid Daud, Norshahzuani Hj Azaman, Dr Norulummi Hj Adanan, Suriyati Kalman, Hjh Nor Edzfariah bte Hj Haris, Hjh Norgayah bte Hj Dullah, Qistina Mu’izza bte Hj Abd Murad, Siti Alifah bte Osman, Nur Bazilah bte Hj Mohd Bakar, Dr Lim Yee Yin and Rogayah Abdullah in 2018. The association has been a member of ADI since 2020.
demensia Brunei is based in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.
Since dB’s inception, they have collaborated with ministries, NGOs, the community and local media to highlight dementia including active ageing, risk reduction activities, youth volunteerism, and more. They have organised several 2-day Dementia Care Skills Training for caregivers and health care professionals. They are also very active in public health awareness campaigns, for instance collaborating with the Health Promotion Centre during their campaigns on non-communicable diseases.
