Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Nigeria (ADAN)

Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Nigeria (ADAN) was founded by Prof. Richard Uwakwe and Prof. Olusegun Baiyewu in 1999 and has been a member of ADI since 1999.

The association is based in Nnewi Anambra State, Nigeria.

The organisation is proud of its consistent monthly dementia awareness programme, the establishment of the first early dementia diagnosis clinic in a primary healthcare facility in Nigeria and its regular community stakeholders’ public health education and engagement meetings. Their clinical research to train health care workers was motivated by this study here.
