Alzheimer Croatia was founded by Mira Dajčić, Zora Šljivarić, and Dr Zdenko Mubrin in 1999 and has been a member of ADI since 2006.
The association is based in Zagreb, Croatia and has two branches in the cities of Lipik and Osijek.
In 2016, as a partner in the cross-border EU project between Slovenia and Croatia, ‘Dementia aCROs-SLO’, Alzheimer Croatia led the first dementia nurse specialist course and trained 300 professional carers for people living with dementia, and led the development of the first department design manual for people living with dementia in nursing homes.
Alzheimer Croatia is also a member of Alzheimer Europe.
