Maintaining dementia as a priority in unprecedented times

This is the third From Plan to Impact report. It provides a critical update on the progress towards the World Health Organization (WHO)'s Global action plan on the public health response to dementia 2017-2025.

The third From Plan to Impact report provides a critical update on the progress towards the World Health Organization (WHO)’s Global action plan on the public health response to dementia 2017-2025, particularly in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Three years after the adoption of the Global plan, the primary target to have 146 of 194 Member States develop a national response plan to dementia, is failing. The report draws attention to the challenges and opportunities that have been brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, and calls for governments to take immediate action from the lessons that the outbreak has presented.
