World Alzheimer Report 2023: Report launch and panel discussion

The World Alzheimer Report 2023, written in journalistic style with key case studies, focuses on reducing the risk of dementia. The report examines the drivers behind risk reduction, including lifelong risk reduction and the steps that individuals can take to reduce their risk as well as the role of government in providing population-based systemic changes to promote risk reduction and the importance of dementia research.

Join us on World Alzheimer’s Day for the launch of the World Alzheimer Report 2023 on risk reduction. ADI’s CEO Paola Barbarino will chair the session, and the report’s lead author, Simon Long, editor-at-large at The Economist, will give us the headlines and recommendations from a report, that has been generated in a journalistic style, taking a snap shot look at current and planned risk reduction research, techniques, innovations and interventions.

Paola Barbarino and Simon will be joined by report contributors examining the drivers behind risk reduction, including lifelong risk reduction, post diagnosis risk reduction strategies, the responsibilities of the individual, and those of governments, and importantly looking at how we might influence and encourage behavioural and lifestyle change.

Paola and Simon will be joined by

  • Emily Ong,
  • Prof Miia Kivipelto
  • Muthoki Kithanze

There will also be plenty of opportunity to put your questions to the panel in an open Q&A.
