Innovations in diagnosis and diagnostics

A World Alzheimer Report 2021 webinar

This is the second in a series of three webinars focused around the launch of the World Alzheimer Report 2021, ‘Journey through the diagnosis of dementia’.

In this webinar, ‘Innovations in diagnosis and diagnostics’ brings together an expert panel to discuss the incredibly important evolution, and some would say revolution, in diagnostics for dementia. We will shine a light on the current and future role of neuro imaging (scans/scanners), the role and perceptions around CSF (cerebrospinal fluid), the emergence of new biomarkers, including blood and digital biomarkers, and the potential impact they could have on the diagnosis pathway, on healthcare systems and importantly on people receiving and living with a diagnosis.

We will ask the question “will blood biomarkers become standard practice and if so, when?”.  We will hear from experts in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). We will pose questions around ethics, privacy, safety and support systems around the introduction of new biomarkers, AI and ML. We will hear about ‘at home’ diagnostics and monitoring, integrated diagnostics and treatment approaches, and crucially the importance of designing and working with people living with dementia at every stage of development, implementation and analysis.

Join us for this 75 minute session, which will be followed by a Q&A session with the general audience.
