ADI fireside chat: The future of vaccines for Alzheimer’s and dementia

This 30-minute fireside chat will centre around the development of a vaccine for Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia.

On 28 June, ADI will host its second fireside chat with Andrea Pfeifer, Co-founder, CEO and Director of AC Immune SA and Wendy Weidner, ADI’s Head of Research and Publications.

During this 30-minute fireside chat, the focus will be on the development of a vaccine for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and other types of dementia. The conversation will delve into crucial aspects such as the scientific foundations of AD vaccine development and the functional mechanisms of such a vaccine. Moreover, attendees can expect insights into development timelines and progress achieved so far.

We will also explore the accessibility of such vaccines, with special consideration given to low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). It is crucial to ensure that access to the vaccine is not limited to specific regions or demographics, fostering a more inclusive approach to healthcare.

In addition to discussing vaccine development, the fireside chat will also provide an opportunity for attendees to engage in a question-and-answer session. Participants can pose their queries, seek clarifications and contribute to the overall discussion, further enriching their understanding of vaccines when it comes to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

This 30-minute conversations promises to be an enlightening experience, shedding light on the scientific possibilities, timelines, accessibility and potential impact of a vaccine for Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
